WHO WE ARE

Newlife Adolescent and Youth Organization Uganda  (NAYO) is a women led, non-partisan and non-religious denominational, non-profit , Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) in Wakiso district targeting adolescents and young people (10-24) years both in and out of school.   NAYO was founded in 2021 during the COVID19 lockdown which brought to bear the vulnerabilities of young people as a Community Based Organization.

To strengthen access to information, health care services and empower the adolescents and youth to take charge of their lives.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • 1. To create awareness on the sexual reproductive health and rights issues of adolescents and youth in the community.
  • 2. To strengthen service delivery and linkage to health care services for adolescents and young people in the community.
  • 3. To strengthen linkage to redress mechanism for adolescents and young people who need it.
  • 4. To promote livelihoods through skilling and training of the adolescent and young people.
  • 5. To conduct research that will promote evidence- based learning and programming.

  • Religious, Cultral and Political Leaders
  • Government practitioners who are mandated to respect, protect and fulfil adolescents and youth (AY) SRHR
  • Those below 10 years and above 24 years who may urgently need our services

OUR PRODUCTS

The NAYO Reusable Sanitary Pads

We carried out research and developed  high quality product called  the NAYO re-usable sanitary pads to respond to the menstrual hygiene challenges in the community. The product is distributed to the most vulnerable adolescent girls and young women in the community with appropriate information on how to use them and keep them clean to avoid infections.

A simplified guide to sexual reproductive health and rights communication to adolescents and young people (10-24years) in the community.

With consultation from various stake holders, we developed the simplified guide to help the parents and community leaders to talk to the adolescents and young people in the community about SRHR issues and the guide was translated into Luganda language  to increase the reach.
